Ik gebruikte maat 8 perle katoen, maat 4/0 naalden en een streng paars-y maat 11 Tsjechoslowaakse kralen.
Hoe het echt ging .. touwtjes rijgen op katoen, ontwerp plannen ... opzetten, beseffen dat dat veel groter is dan je wilt. Plan het ontwerp opnieuw. Zet op, besef dat dat kleiner is dan je wilt. Cuss veel. Maak veel vreemde schetsen met | voor gebreide steken, X voor kolommen met één kraal en O voor de gevormde kolommen met kraaltjes. Neem tenslotte 22 steken. Begin opnieuw te breien .. kwellend als je genoeg kralen op de draad legt, bijna klaar bent, in tweeën vouwen, besef dat je denkt dat het te kort is .. discussieer of je een tas kunt accepteren die niet de vorm heeft die je wilt, en of het echt is de tijd waard om de helft van de hechtingen waaraan je uren hebt besteed te kikkeren. Beslis dat je het moet doen of je zult het nooit dragen, en het zal worden gegeven aan een van de vrienden van je vader als je het niet goed krijgt. Kikker. Neem steken op, en realiseer je dat je je haaknaald maat 13 niet kunt vinden, dus je haalt steken op met een naald en draad die een storm oprapen omdat je Deadwood het meest hebt bekeken tijdens je breitijd, en een deel van de vocabulaire op Deadwood past perfect bij je humeur. Begin opnieuw te breien, voeg nog 7 rijen toe, krijg bijna klaar, merk een kraal een gebroken, probeer het van de draad te glijden, breek de draad. Cuss wat meer. Vouw zodat de opzetrand samenkomt met de rij normaal breien onder de klep, met de goede kanten naar binnen (wat betekent dat de kant met de kralen op de klep) in principe, probeer de kralen op elkaar af te stemmen. Naai de randen, keer de goede kant naar buiten. Krijg een goede sterke kralendraad, ik gebruikte Power Pro en rijg een riem. Voeg een paar kralen toe aan de punt van de flap om hem wat gewicht te geven en houd hem dicht. Bewonder je ketting.
Stikdiagram als het gemakkelijker is om te volgen dan de schriftelijke instructies. X zijn gebreid, O zijn kralen. Het heeft van onder naar boven gewerkt.
